Artist Statement

 

My artwork is about experimenting. As an Illustration student, I am always playing with  new mediums and creating a new subject to my work. I believe that there are multiple ways to express one idea, and I have found that different mediums change the overall mood of the piece drastically. I love playing with this idea as it adds variety to my work while simultaneously unifying it.

 

Currently, I am working on a series with different female subjects. My chosen focus is beauty, and I aim to capture an array of different forms. After researching the culture of different regions in the world, I then design and create a unique and original character. After the design is complete, I work out a composition and create a finished illustration with each character. When my series is viewed together, it shows  diversity and the beauty within each of these characters and their cultures.
